Kink /kiNGk/, noun—a quirk of character or behavior. Informal: a person’s unusual sexual preference.

Okay, I’m about 98% sure that you have never talked about kink in an educational group setting, so there’s no excuse not to check out this event. The Garden will be back to tell us all about kinks, including how to make sure all parties are healthy, happy, and safe.

Sex Toys 101

  • Ohio Union, Suzanne M. Scharer Room (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Ohio sex ed doesn’t have to be medically accurate, I’m guessing it doesn’t have to be socially accurate either. No one ever taught us anything about sex toys—what they are, where to get them, why you’d want one, how to use it safely, or how to clean them properly. They are a part of most people’s lives, so let’s get the facts straight.

The Garden (a local, female-owned sex store) will be joining us to answer all the above questions, and much more!

Got Consent?

If there was ever a time to take 90 minutes to talk about consent, it’s now (except, like, third grade woulda worked???). With the Me Too movement and Supreme Court justices accused of sexual assault, consent is something we need to discuss. Join Sex Week and SARNCO in a real conversation about a basic human right.

Healthcare in the LGBTQ Community

  • Ohio Union, Ohio Staters, Inc. Founders Room (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

LGBTQ-discrimination is real, and it happens in Columbus. Katherine Ritter, a Ph.D. student in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, specializes in studying health disparities in the LGBTQ community, including their access to—or lack thereof—healthcare. Katherine will be sharing her research with Sex Week so that we can all understand the obstacles that the LGBTQ community must overcome. If you don’t consider yourself to be a member of the LGBTQ community, come anyway and bring a friend. Somewhere, sometime, you will know someone who will benefit from this information.
